InPort (Intelligent Port Systems AB) has signed an agreement with Intercontainer Scandinavia AB (ICS) to provide ICS with a complete suite of IT systems to support the production- and administration of ICS operations in Scandinavia
The agreement consists of InPorts' rail operation system RAILIT with supporting subsystems and a package including internal as well as external communication interfaces with a new website as main feature.
InPort will host the full suite and support ICS in maintenance of the systems. ICS key customers will have access to RAILIT either via a full EDI integration or via a web interface at ICS new website.
In full use ICS will be integrated to a large number of rail and port terminals of which a majority already use InPort’s terminal system PORTIT. This enables them to have full access to ICS Railit for efficient planning and operation of ICS train systems.
Amongst PORTIT users you will find Port of Helsingborg, Port of Norrköping and Västerås Kombiterminal (Mälarhamnar/Jernhusen).
Port of Gothenburg ( CATOS/TICS) will also be integrated through a full EDI integration ready to be implementing already in April 2010. This is possible thanks to strong support and cooperation with Skandia CT AB and its new organization. Remaining terminals will be offered a web solution or support to integrate through RAILIT open EDI interface.
Intercontainer Scandinavia AB and InPort AB are convinced that this cooperation will continue and set the pace for more efficient train operations in Scandinavia. An area in great need of further development, where both companies are about to take the lead.
